This new qualification has been created to meet the new FSA exam standards (Qualifications and Credit Framework Level 4) in full.
 
The Diploma for Financial Advisers (DipFA) consists of 2 core units: 

        
Unit 1 - Financial Services, Regulation and Ethics (FSRE)
        Unit 2 - Advanced Financial Advice (AFA)
 

It is recommended that you spend 370 guided learning hours study time on the Diploma.The complete course is achievable within 9 months.

 Assessment comprises of an objective test, a coursework assignment and an examination. 

Unit 1 - Financial Services, Regulation and Ethics (FSRE)

The FSRE objective multi-choice test is delivered electronically with a 70% pass mark with confirmation of the result provided on the day.

Unit 2 - Advanced Financial Advice (AFA)

The second assessment repesents 30% of the overall unit weighting and takes the form of a written coursework assignment which should be submitted after approximately 4 months of study. The coursework will comprise a written piece of work with a bibliography, and three short answer questions. The pass mark is 50%.

The third assessment represents 70% of the overall unit mark weighting and takes the form of a written examination combining knowledge, understanding and application of AFA. This assessment will be taken at  the end of the period of study, intended to be within a period of 36 weeks, and involves the production of a report, based on a client factfind received six weeks prior to the examination date. The pass mark is 50%.

 

You are required to pass all 3 assessment elements.
